North Pole Summer Cool-off Trip September 3, 2026

On September 7, 1909 the New York Times published a headline announcing Robert Peary had reached the North Pole in April 1909.  (note...Peary's Assistant Matthew Hensen arrived at "the spot" 45 minutes earlier than Peary!)

A week earlier, the New York Herald had reported that Frederick Cook claimed to have reached the North Pole in April 1908, a year earlier.

Modern historians think both claims of reaching the actual north pole are doubtful.  Does it matter to us?  No, but we think that after the hot summer many of us have had and are still having, going someplace a bit cooler sounds like a great idea!

Join #Nipclub Manager @thenascarkitty and @DCkitty as we sail above the arctic circle on the "Cold Duck", the ship that took us to Antarctica for #CatmasEve in 2019.

From there we'll transfer to snowmobiles, or if you want more adventure, go old school and use dogsleds! our expedition staff will lead the way.

When you've had enough cooling off, come hang out at the Ice Bar for some warm drinks, food and music
