The celebration we know today as St. Patrick's day we know today was once very different. Long before there even was a St. Patrick, the day was a pagan celebration of the Spring Equinox called Ostera.
This changed when 5th century Missionary Patrick transitioned Ireland from Paganism to Christianity. The once Pagan celebration became a religious holiday.
St. Patrick's day changed again in the 18th & 19th centuries as Irish immigrants came here with their traditions & customs. The day became a secular holiday and celebration day for Irish Heritage.
And with that said...
Let the Shenanigans begin!
